President: Mark Pinnick
Vice-President: Chris Dent
Secretary: Nancy Raabe
Treasurer: Tom Gerke
Directors-at-Large: David Pack, Mark Plescia
See our Constitution here.
This network, which has been upheld by the Association of Lutheran Church
Musicians (ALCM) as a model of the kind of local organization it is trying to
encourage, was initiated by Lucas Weiss, Julia Parker, Tom Gerke, and
Nancy Raabe following the Augsburg Fortress summer music clinic in
August, 2008. In 2010 we were affirmed by the Association of Lutheran
Church Musicians as a local chapter and elected our first slate of officers.
"Full" membership in Cantor Connection (including voting privileges) requires
membership in ALCM. "Friends" of Cantor Connection receive news of
events but are not able to vote on matters concerning the organization.
Past events include three successful citywide spring hymn festivals. "Paul
Manz: A Life of Music - A Life of Service" was held at Bethel Grove City in
May 2009. "Thine the Amen Thine the Praise," celebrating the music of Carl
Schalk, took place at Christ Lutheran Church, Bexley, in May 2010. "Lord,
Thee I Love With All My Heart: A Celebration of the Music and Ministry of
Donald Busarow" was held on May 22, 2011 at Prince of Peace Lutheran
Church, Dublin.
All friends of Cantor Connection are encouraged to join ALCM and to
promote congregational memberships for the churches where they serve or
worship. Read here about the benefits of membership in ALCM.
Cantor Connection is funded by contributions from donors and other private
sources, including an annual spring fund raiser. Please contact us here if you
would like to inquire about supporting our activities. Peace be with you!
